"Cemya Boga" -- "Family of God"
The weekly electronic journal and newsletter serving Russian speaking churches of Christ
From its very beginning,
in November 2001, Cemya Boga has played a rather unique role to our subscribers.
Recognizing that there is much good English language teaching material not
accessible to Russian speaking preachers, we envisioned an electronic
publication that would help fill this gap. Each week identical lessons are
posted in the English and Russian language versions. This project has
a number of important aspects:
Russian speaking preachers which
do not have English speaking members or missionaries are able to
access
teaching material in their own language.
English speaking missionaries have
access to teaching material in both languages. Thus, they can use the
Russian
language version as reading material for members.
Congregations have an endless
source of material which they can post in their bulletins or use in other ways.
Cost and Time Effective.
Electronic distribution has obvious cost and distribution advantages over hard
copy
printing and circulation. Hundreds of issues have been translated by volunteers
from Ukraine, Russia and
the
United States. More recently American congregations have begun to
financially sponsor the translation
of
material for publication through Cemya Boga.
High quality books, such as "What
is Christianity?" by Dr. Joel Stephen Williams, are made available months
before
they appear in hard print. The English version of "What is Christianity" is
posted on this web site.
Our Subscribers
One of the surprising developments has been that a growing number of subscribers
from English speaking countries
have found the teaching material useful in their ministries. In addition
to subscribers from the Russian speaking countries
of Ukraine, Russia, Latvia, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan. Subscribers to the English
version work in America, Canada, Japan, India, Greece, and others.
Dear Cemya Boga, The prisoners I minister to as a volunteer chaplain receive the benefit of your lessons that I print for them from time to time. We mail your material to more than 160 men in several Texas prisons. They are greatly encouraged to know that we have men in the former Soviet Union preaching the gospel. Thank you for some great material. Bob Davis, Texas.
Dear Cemya Boga: I am preaching a series of lessons on King David and would like to post your articles on the Hebrew kings in our church bulletin. Steve Williams, Pulpit Minister, University church of Christ, Gainesville, FL.
